Casting Gemstones Set in Wax

Lost wax casting may be thousands of years old, but there is always room for innovation. One of the most interesting variants on the technique is the casting of stones directly into designs.  Ruth Tomlinson and Polly Wales are just two of a growing number of jewelers creating  highly detailed work that pushes the boundaries while maintaining an organic feel.
