Learn from legend Donna Shimazu, the first female JA-certified Master Bench Jeweler and former Maui Divers Senior Designer, for an intensive look into advanced wax carving. Don’t miss this chance to gain technical mastery and professional secrets from one of the industry's most accomplished designer.
This class will have an emphasis on how to layout designs for efficient carving, be it for stone setting in wax, making left and right-side pieces or doing pieces with actual and implied dimensionality. Applying textures will also be explored.
Projects will include:
Prong set solitaire ring
Pair of earrings
Turtle with texture
If interest and time permits, some tool making can be done.
Process notes will be provided for projects.
