Curious about soldering and metalsmithing, but don’t know where to start? Or are you interested in creating silver jewelry for yourself, friends and family? Perhaps your metalsmithing skills are a little rusty and you need a refresher course? Then this class is for you. In this introductory class, we will explore the essential metalsmith techniques of sawing, filing, drilling, forming, metal stamping, stone setting, and soldering. Using these skills, we will fabricate a variety of unique and exciting pendants, rings, bracelets, or earrings.
We will be working with copper and silver, and using a butane torch to complete in-class projects.
This class is suitable for beginners ( 15 years and older)
Classes are 8 sessions, 3.75 hours each session for a total of 30 classroom hours equivalent to the previous 10 week class format.
