Make chains like a Viking from jewlery legend Donna Shimazu, the first female JA-certified Master Bench Jeweler and former Maui Divers Senior Designer. This is a rare opportunity to take this class with Donna.
You will make single and double Viking Chains in different sizes and densities, using different sized mandrels, number of loops and a drawplate. Finishing your chain by making end caps and a clasp and final assebmling of the necklace.

SUPPLY LIST:
Kit will contain supplies for this class.
TOOL LIST:
Students should bring the following to class. There may be some tools available to borrow during class, but best to bring your own.
Round nose pliers
Chain nose pliers or bent chain nose pliers (Bent nose are nicer to use)
Combo Round/Flat pliers (Nice if you have them for forming clasps.)
Wire side cutters (Flush or near flush is preferable)
Awl
Assorted needle files for shaping and finishing
Smooth faced hammer for some light forging (Planishing, ball peen, goldsmith's hammer, etc.)
Solder pick
Soldering tweezers
Sandpaper
Miscellaneous finishing/polishing points
Crafter's Comfort Gloves (by Dritz) are nice optional item to protect fingers while pulling wire, but protective tape around index finger will work well, too. (Green Alligator protective tape or medical tape.)
Ruler
Vernier gauge to measure diameters
Sharpie
Notebook
